I think with this poem Turan baba pleading from us not to let him disappear after his death.
And Turkey has not only one Turan Dursun. *We are a Turan Dursun all together...

Is it a reference to the Lights ? ( Voltaire, and so on... )
In this way so he begs the turkish atheist to not killing him stopping the fight for Ligths..
It means also that he believe that we all live in what we live in the thoughts of the future generations... this is really a great poem !
And about the face, I understand that when you're dead so you have finished to lie or something ? The mask fells... am I right ?

With the phrase , "enligtened", I meant the intellectual, enlightened people.
But the way you are thinking is also very nice. :)
About the face, by saying when somebody dies, their faces become two, he means, after a death people become hypocrite, meaning they wear another mask. Before somebody dies, you despise him and his thoughts, after his death, you pretend that, you liked him. He criticises this.
By the last part, when he says, if he dies, he wants the intellectual community not to kill him. He means, 'do not kill my thoughts!" Because he is his thoughts!
